How Can I Improve My Eating Habits?

Eat mostly plants. In the U.S. the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends 2 ½ cups of vegetables per day.  This recommendation is set way too low.

When you look at other countries that have no relationship wit the food industry the recommendations are very different.  They advise much higher vegetable and fruit consumption.

Japan for example recommends 13 portions of vegetables and 4 portions of fruit daily.

France recommends 10 servings of veggies and fruits daily.

Americans consume an average of only 1-½ cups of veggies daily. Half of these are potatoes and tomatoes, which comes from fries and pizza sauce.

We should be consuming 9 servings of veggies daily. By eating more veggies and fruit you will have less room for unhealthy foods.

In the U.S. the obesity rate is on the rise mostly due to bad food choices. Not enough veggies and fruits that fight disease and provide your body with nutrients, minerals and fiber it needs to be healthy.

In other countries that eat a high diet of veggies and fruit the obesity rate is low to non-existent. This is due to the amount of fruit and veggies that they consume and the low consumption of bad unhealthy foods.
