New Jersey Personal Trainer Tip: Drink plenty of water during this excessive heat that we are having. If you plan on exercising then do so early in the morning or late in the day when the sun goes down and the temperatures are much cooler.

As a New Jersey Personal Trainer I advise my clients to drink two sixteen-ounce bottles of water every two hours. Although, with this heat that we are having and temperatures being well into the hundreds I am advising them to keep water with them at all times and to drink two bottles of water an hour. This will keep you hydrated and your body temperature down.

As an In Home Personal Trainer I am scheduling my clients to work out in the early am hours or the early evening hours when the temperatures are cooler. There is no need to stop your exercise routine you just need to get in your workout routines at much slower pace and when the temperature are not at there highest.

If you need to be outside keep a towel with you that you can soak with water and put it on the back of your neck to cool you off, and don’t forget to drink – drink – drink as much water as you can.  Remember if you are thirsty you are already dehydrated.

Above all be safe and stay hydrated.
